Very proud of this assignment =) Experimentalist composition with graphic notation for vocals, percussions and prepared piano. We performed it in class too, turned out pretty well!

On another note, I spent a few hours calculating the cost of releasing an album (CD printing and studio time for 1000 copies cause that’s the minimum), thought of how much I’d sell them for, when I would’ve cut even, and when I’d start producing again -

I forgot to begin with thinking of what material I have, turns out I have none I’m happy with at all! None worth spending any money on..

None!

Will start writing towards the album soon. =) It’s refreshing, starting again with a clean slate with a lot more experience than I started with.. Looking forward to it. Will also have to figure out how to fund it! If anyone has any sponsorship ideas please let me know..

The plan is to write them and release them all together. =) Might not hear from me for a while.. Hold on tight!

I learnt a great deal from the few precious songwriters, musicians and friends I met in the past couple of years.. Thank you, you know who you are. =)

Accompanied Kat on the piano today as she played the violin for her cousin’s wedding. Everything was perfect – the church with its white washed walls, magnificent arches and stained glasses, the grandeur of the church organ, uncontainable joy from loving friends and family, the vintage Jaguars waiting to take them away after the ceremony.. =) Beautiful.

It inspired to finally write something, I guess I was also affected by Pete Teo’s new amazingly produced Gubra soundtrack..

She slowly walks towards her groom as the classical processional music plays in the background; But all he hears in his head is this quiet, melancholic, yet significant acoustic meditation..

Chopin – Berceuse (Lullaby)

I guess I didn’t manage to put everyone to sleep.. Some people were talking when toward the really quiet section at the end =p I knew how nervous I get after warmup, so I tried performing without warmup instead!

All was well, I woke up, showered and walked in just in time for the class.. I was calm =) Great, and so I played. My fingers were so weak that many notes didn’t sound at all! Yeah sure the fingers entered the keys, but nothing came out. Imagine the horror! I couldn’t play any harder or faster!

But I guess it all turned out pretty alright.. Kat and I went to mourn over a sushi after, cause she heard me do it a couple of times and knew I was rather upset.. =P When she had to go back to class, I went back to the hall when the class just ended, and read a couple of reviews students left at the door. Apparently noone really heard the non-sounding (uh.. of course they didn’t) notes, and well. =) It’s all good.. The flow wasn’t awfully disjointed, and the tone wasn’t too awful.

Fairly good experience, necessary to say the least.. Turns out warm up’s aren’t just for sissies. =P

HA! IN YOUR FACE ARNOLD SCHOENBERG! Toughest assignment so far, my attempt at serialism, if I were to give it a title it’ll be called “6 Hours of Misery”. Totally drained now, time for a short nap..

Now I have to enter it to the computer cause there’s no way I’m able to play this to demonstrate in class.. Hahaha! Thank God for MIDI (never thought I’d ever say that).

Kat’s housewarming was a blast! We all helped prepare our shephard’s pie and the vegs cause Kat and I didn’t have enough time before everyone started swarming in.. LOL! But it was all good =) Played monopoly after that too! Kat stolen my Picadilly and claimed my rent! LOL!

Btw, Peishan’s being blocked by Kat and Ruth.. Haha! Poor flying elephant. =(
