  • New lamp in my room =) First week in Uni’s been great, looking forward to the rest of the year..

  • For some, photography could be about capturing beauty, like sceneries or plants; But for others, framing the perfect picture to tell a story, the plot totally depending on what story the photographer wants to tell - Cause any event can be framed into the ‘right’ perspective.

Scary how life is so similar, I somehow learnt that nothing I go through in life is reliably true; cause we’re always framing for the story we wish for, deceiving ourselves with our fictitious perspectives of how good or bad our lives really are. In these cases, we are victims of our own design.

It’s sad that even photographs can lie, sometimes I wonder if I have been lying to myself all this while.

Why the emo post? No idea, simply inspired by playing with Khai’s camera yesterday. On another note.. There’s another photo of myself here, the only photo from the Troubadours gig at NBT on 15th January. Thanks Albert.

  • It’s so much more than what I expected it to be.. =) Sounds totally awesome!! And it’s barely seasoned!! My search for the perfect acoustic guitar tone has ended! (Markus!) Wait till you hear a sound sample, you’ll know what I mean then..

For our February 14th dinner, Ray, Eugene, Ben, Henry, Eric and I decided to go someplace nice.. After all it was Eric’s birthday as well! I turned down mum’s tiger prawns cause dinner was going to be a blast!

We had a bucket at KFC. (??!@#?!)

I gratefully ate whatever’s left of the prawns and just met them there instead.. =P Happy 27th birthday Eric! And happy valentines day baby.. Sorry I couldn’t be there with you, but I’ll make it up to you when I’m back? =) I love you baby, see you in 3 days..

Yeah it’s only 3 days left. Not in the mood for a more thoughtful post though, maybe in a day or two..

  • Let’s get it started.. Heh. Heh. Heh.

Alda, myself and Nigel. Thanks Kevin/Albert for the pictures. =)

    Setlist:

    Play (acoustic)
All I’m Born To Do (acoustic)
    Something I Can’t Do (trio)
    Something’s Missing (John Mayer) (trio)

The gig at Troubaganger went amazingly well!! My sinus was cleared, the solos keeked arss, the support from the crowd was phenomenal – even the moon was in the right place! (8th day of the New Year =P) A big big thank you to all who made it there, and made last night such a memorable one!

First time one of my originals are being played in a trio setting.. It didn’t sound much like how I originally wrote it =p But it’s expressive and emotional in it’s own way that an acoustic guitar alone just can’t carry. Last night’s rendition of it was really like a dream, waking up from a guitar solo to realise that about 100 people are listening intently to what you’re playing. - It felt as if they were there at that moment with me, with the look of their eyes that say “Yeah, I know what you’re talking about”.. This really is what music should be like! I couldnt’ve imagined anything more special than this.

Really glad to have made it this far. Thanks Nigel and Alda for the music we made together, and our YF friends who helped us lug our stuff around.. You guys are awesome!

It really was God’s grace that I managed to even hit a note last night.. I recovered from my flu just in time for my set. I sounded like a horse the night before! (Don’t believe me, ask Alda.. Haha..) Thank you teaching me to trust You, even in petty matters like this.

P.S. Kat just flew back to Melbourne today.. Safe journey baby, see you soon. =)

  • Troubaganger tomorrow (Sunday) night! I’ll be performing a few originals, Nigel and Alda will join me to close up with a John Mayer cover. It’ll be awesome!

Had to fall sick and lose my voice 3 days before my gig at Troubadours. Probably got the flu from my bro, he seems quite proud of it.. LOL.. Hope I’m okay by then. =(

Nigel and I jammed a bit last night and it was awesome! We’ll see if we can whip something up by Sunday night..

[edit] I’m feeling better now =D Still can’t sing but I should be able to on Sunday.. And Alda agreed to help us out! Good to have some experience among us.

  • The way these guys describe the tone of Taylor’s new guitar shape the GS (Grand Symphony), it sounds almost as if they’re talking about sex. Or chocolate. Or sex with chocolate.

Please excuse the language.. LOL! I can imagine people being offended, heheh! But imho this article totally deserves it.

Reading it makes me want to own all 4 of them.. I’m already drooling without having to touch the guitars! These marketing guys are genius. Who could translate guitar tone into something like that!

  • I’m excited.. Can you tell..

  • Came across Sarah Mclachlan’s “Angel” on the way home, and was immediately brought back to that afternoon when you fell asleep in my arms, while this song was softly playing in the background; and as your curtains dimmed the mellow sunlight into a soothing auburn glow.

It’s simply breathtaking sometimes, how music moves us so deeply, and brings us back to these beautiful moments in time.. I miss you baby, you don’t know how much.

Let me be empty, and weightless and maybe
    I’ll find some peace tonight..
